Well this is a VERY long overdue post!!! I can't believe it was June when I last posted. So, our summer is gone essentially! Preschool, baseball wound up in June, and we entered July. Clint quit Red River middle of July which allowed for lots of fun family time all summer. It's been great having him home with Seth - saves on $$$ for daycare, but also let them do things together that mommy doesn't necessarily like to do - building forts, gardening, mowing lawn and other yard work etc etc... So I think it's been great. I'll recap summer as I can with these pics. We spent a day at Tinkertown middle of the month. Was a blast. Seth and Clint went on a TON of rides. They got the bracelets and it's a good thing because I went on a couple (bought a few tickets) and things I used to enjoy weren't so much fun anymore. haha Mom always has to get a picture of her lil' man so here we are exploring fields at the end of July, beginning of August.
Was trying my hand at some nature shots. I'm not great at what to look for but thought this was pretty. Kindergarten Photo Shoot - did this past week. Wanted to make use of the field by grandma and grandpa's before harvest as this is a later one already and surprised to still find it standing there. Might use them as his 5 year pictures yet, not sure.. Can't really do anything fun outside in December.
Just some more pics from our time outside. And so began September... Here we are starting our first day of school! We've been fighting this for awhile now but went to meet our teacher yesterday and had a great time and was a ball of energy talking about it non stop since yesterday. And so he was all geered up and didn't give us a chance to really think that WOW he's going.. He saw his teacher, followed her in right away and that was that! She said we could stay until recess but we stood kind of dumb struck that he wanted to willingly go in. I think he was more wanting to go play outside with the sand box but hey, I'm sure we'll have our days (I KNOW we will) where he won't be as willing to go so I'll take this as a blessing. Here's some pics from this morning and hopefully I won't take so long to write next time!

| Oh my goodness it's been a little TOO long since I've updated here! I think the last entry was Feb! I thought I did one in March! Well, I know MArch was a whirlwind, as life seems to have gone the past while... And I was finishing up my course and practicum and was done the first couple weeks into April. Then it was job hunting. Two particular jobs were open in the area, one at Eden in Winkler (mat leave) and the other in Morris at the PCH. I was accepted at both and took the job in Morris - I only actually found out about a week into that job that I was granted the position at Eden but this seems to be a better fit for the time being! :) I'm enjoying it so far! :) Spring was late in coming.. As you can tell from the following pictures, it never seemed to really come.. Most people have been following up on facebook so it's really hard to say what else you've missed out on but some of the pictures will tell stories so here goes!
Napping.. late afternoon nap. I miss these. Very few these days that are to be had as we're growing out of them.

My little photographer!
Late spring fog... Apparently after fog we'll get rain 60 days later.. Well, it's been a VERY wet spring and a lot of flooding in Manitoba so I guess there's some truth to that.
Mamma duck and her little ducklings.. haha too cute!
My brother in law, his wife and my newphew were out for Easter and we did some shots for his 2 year birthday picture. I had a wall mount made up, and it turned out beautifully. Funny how random FUN pictures from a session can make something so nice!
Easter eggs for the boys!
Some flowers sent by my aunt and uncle from Ontario on the day of my grad reception here in Altona, May 30th.
GRAD! U of M with BSW! May 31, 2011
And this past week my little man graduated from preschool and first year t-ball!
Here's his team! Ok, I'm not sure what else to say or put on here right now so I'll just say sorry on the delay and not sure where half my pics are - most are backed up because in the past couple months I've not only gotten a new camera and lens but also a new computer so things are everywhere! I guess I can blame the lack of blogging on that as well!
| Well, the last time I entered it was about our trip in saskatoon, but Seth was upset I didn't include a picture of him at the airport ready to fly back home! So here he is, mr. traveller!
Seth was so good on the flight, settling in right away with his labtop and checking out the workers and making sure they were doing things right. haha He hasn't flown for two years now, but this will have been trip number 5 on the plane. He loved it. Next trip, disneyland??? Here's cousin mason! Got back to the city just after new years and right away it was a photo session for me adn then Christmas supper with Clint's aunt, uncle, mom, brother, sisterinlaw and our nephew. This was taken by Seth Elijah - budding photographer perhaps? Snuggling and catching up on lost time. And so went January... Valentine's came and went... We had quite the nice weather, followed by snow and cold weather, followed by nice weather... Well, you see the pattern. On a nicer day, Seth's found outside as long as he can. Here he's on a snow drift so high he can shovel off the shed roof. Another fun snowbank to climb on. Nana sent back some of mommy's old gloves for extras when we're outside shovelling etc. Needless to say, we're using them now for pretending to be a garbage dump truck driver (???).
And scooters? What's more fun than taping up the gas tank and making it a tiller or floor waxer?
Smile! I'm so cute. :) Feels like February has whizzed by.. We've been busy with work, school (for me), preschool and sunday school (seth) and when we're home together, just enjoying either playing outside on the snow hills or digging in the snow with trekker, or hiding away inside watching movies and playing in the toy room. We're looking forward to Nana coming out for a visit in the next week while she comes to help with my brother as he's having a gallbladder operation. We have kindergarten assessment this week, my dad's birthday (what would be 61 years so we'll celebrate with a cake or something for the time he was with us) and then kindergarten registration is next week if we decide to register our lil' man. Wow time has just flown. It's crazy. Oh and on another exciting note, now that we're allowed to talk about it, my sister Sarah is due with her second child in August!!! What a blessing to us as a family after such a tragic loss. Dad would have been happy to know that his legacy continues.
| So this is a VERY delayed blog post as life has just been crazy busy being in Saskatoon and then coming home not until after newyears and trying to get back into the swing of things. So I'm posting a blog with a ton of pics and will just comment on them. life since being home has just been crazy busy with preschool two days a week, salem (my work placement two days a week), and bible coffee starting up. We've been sick on and off with colds or flus and so just looking forward to february and the promise of nicer weather coming our way!
What our table looked like with flowers and cards when I arrived on the 11th.
My beautiful neice Kara!
Eating a wonderful supper with all dad's siblings the night before the service at the Samarai
My brother and the love of his life, Jen
Yes, daddy being silly and making fingers behind Seth with his chopsticks. This was a shocked look cuz he just ate some really cold chocolate icecream and looked at me as the flash went off.
Don't ask. They won't tell.
Everyone loves Uncle Howard!
Setting up collages for the service.
Our guest book.
The family table.
People who came to show their respect. We had some speeches and then let people mingle while we had a slide show going.
Uncle Arthur, Uncle David, my Aunt Sharon (Arthur's wife), Auntie Mary and her husband, Howard.
Sarah and her friend, Crystal
My niece is a poser...

Christmas morning, someone was psyched at what Santa brought him.
Sarah ordered some wonderful gingerale from Ontario. Muskoka is where we spent many summers growing up and so this was used for toasting at Christmas dinner.
My handsome nephew, Caelen. He was a little excited about his gift I got him.. Makapaka? from in the night garden.
Two little dudes in a tub...

| ... come in all sorts of forms. I started a blog a few weeks ago, then our Christmas letter (which still has yet to be done) and then our world changed on us at 3 in the morning of December 6th. Dad passed away after just a few short hours of pain and being on morphine. His body finally gave up the fight. He just got back from Edmonton from the assessments with the energy to fight and try to gain strength and beat the tumors and cancer they found in his liver in hopes of still having a transplant. I am in AWE of him. How he struggled so much and yet with determination and hope continued to fight until the very end. I love him so much and hope that much of what he was as a man, husband, father is instilled in us as his children. My flight and time to spend out here in Saskatoon was booked for the 11th. We, Seth, Clint and I, ended up driving up instead to spend the week preparing a memorial tribute service for him. I accepted this possibility a few months ago and although it's hard to not see him here in my parents home (as I expect him to walk out into the kitchen here or see him on the bed when I go to their room), I've felt the peace of his passing as a miracle in itself. It really reminds me of the fact that, as much as we choose not to accept it, that God knows our days before we're born - how we will shape ourselves, what we will do and give to this world/life and like the number of hairs on our head (which I've lost lots of in the past few months!), He knows when this chapter in our life is done. I choose to see the positive and rely on the strength he had that he passed along to all of us, and channel it into know he's no longer in pain, and although I would've loved to have him here at Christmas (knowing it might be his last) or wished that there was no tumor and the transplant happened months ago and he'd be healthy as a horse, that I could not bear to see him sitting here on Christmas Day trying to smile through a ton of pain or another rollercoaster ride of infections. I feel so blessed to have had a good talk and cry with him a week before on the phone when we realized the cancer would most likely be unbeatable and he wouldn't get his cottage on the lake to retire to, but again was in awe how that in spite of all that was against him, he said he would fight. He's never ceased to amaze me what he's done for us or could do. So as I sit here and write this, I thank you, dad, for this life. For giving us all we wanted and not only provided our every need financially, you've gone above and beyond that. I can't imagine not having you in our lives and seeing your grandchildren grow up, or not have you there at my graduation in Spring with a social work degree in hand, but know that YOU are part of that - I see you in our son, and get my brains from you and mom and that's the only reason I'm getting through and graduating. I know we'll miss you and every holiday and birthday or anniversary will be hard, but I am SO thankful that you are no longer suffering. We had so many people praying for you and to have this transplant happen and we got you to Edmonton - that's what you wanted! Just we didn't get what we wanted there. We have to give up our own control sometimes and accept things that aren't meant to be. I'll cherish the memories I have had with you and hope that Seth's old enough to remember his own and I will continue to tell him about you in the years to come. Love you...
Dad the week before he passed away all dressed up to cheer on the Riders during the Grey Cup. (pics out of order sorry... Dad holding Seth Elijah just a couple days old December 2006). Sometime early 2000... Obviously at Christmas time wearing his Christmas tie and accessories. :) Me and dad going down the aisle.
